well i'll admit, its been a while since i did anything besides weddings and engagements but i always enjoy something out of the norm so when an old friend called to see if i could do some maternity pictures i jumped at the opportunity. meet tad and mederith. they are expecting a wonderful new baby girl in just a few weeks and i had a blast shooting with them. hope you enjoy!

well my wife and i have been talking about getting a dog for a while and jessie was completely set on getting a golden retriever. this past weekend i gave in and we went and got the newest member of our family, sadie. shes a 1 year old purebred golden and she is a blast! weve had a great time taking her to the park and for walk and just playing around the house.

on a side note, i know its been a while and i have a couple of weddings/engagements that i need to put here and on my facebook so be looking for some catch up blogging in the next week or two.

i love weddings where everything is just right. from the start of the day when the bridesmaids are getting ready to when the bride and groom leave for the honeymoon, everything is just good. that is the best way i can think of to describe adam and jessica's big day. it was just right. they were such a fun couple, the families were great, the bridal party was super, and everything was good. i had so much fun shooting this wedding and besides it being freeeeezing there really is nothing I would have changed about it. adam and jessica are awesome and i think its easy to tell watching them that they are the real deal. hope you enjoy the pictures!

so this was one of the coolest shoots i've been a part of because i got to go spend an hour "between the hedges" in sanford stadium doing some awesome bridals. i did these a few months ago and i have been counting down the days until jessica got married so I could put these up and since she got married last weekend(see post above...) here they are! jessica was a ton of fun to work with and had lots of great ideas for cool photos to surprise adam, her football loving husband, with. This is a wedding that we looked forward to for a long time. Christen is one of Jessie's good friends from high school and one of her "girl's night girls" so when Christen emailed me about possibly being a part of her wedding Jessie told me we had to make sure we were there. It was such a beautiful wedding and just one of those days where every detail seemed to flow together just as it was planed. Christen and Tad were a lot of fun to photograph and Jessie and I were honored to be a part of their special day. Hope you enjoy the photos!

this was one of the most special shoots for me because not only did i get to play with my new camera and shoot some cool pics in a parking garage, but i got to celebrate my little sister's engagement. it was a little weird for me as a protective big brother to come to terms with the idea of my little sister getting married but i honestly couldn't be happier for her and my soon to be brother-in-law is a great addition to the family. this shoot has been in the works since the day they got engaged back in july. after a few months of changing dates to find a time where we could all get together we finally found a weekend that was supposed to be really pretty just before thanksgiving and just as luck would have it, it rained. i called joanna the day before to talk with her about maybe trying to still do the shoot even with the rain and while she was a little hesitant at first we were all really glad we decided to go for it because it allowed for a different style of backgrounds than I would have normally picked since we had to find shelter from the rain. so from random awnings to the church breezeway and even in a parking garage we found fun opportunities for photos and I was thrilled with the results. i love you jo and i'm so excited for you and bentley! enjoy the pics!

sarah + david = married!

so when sarah and david contacted me about doing their wedding i was a little confused. in their email they said they were getting married on september 7 and after checking the calendar i figured it must have been a typo because september 7 was a monday. turned out it wasn't a typo, it wasn't your typical saturday wedding, and it wasnt your typical wedding at all. in fact it was one of the sweetest most intimate weddings i have had the privilege to be a part of. they got married in the beautiful piedmont park in downtown atlanta and it was perfect. so simple, yet so elegant. from the moment i arrived i could just tell how in love they were and how they were so much more excited about being married than the wedding itself. they just wanted it to be a time with friends and family to celebrate their new life as a couple and it was. plus, as a bonus for me, we got to do an extended time shooting with the two of them before the reception and it was a blast. well i'm starting to ramble but i hope you enjoy the pics!

well its been a few weeks since i've put anything up on the blog. between moving into a new house and adjusting to new schedules its been a pretty crazy few weeks and unfortunately i haven't been able to go out and shoot as much as i would have liked to. all that changed last saturday when i got to be a part of anthony and emmas wedding. they are such a fun couple and the entire day was perfect! on top of being a wonderful couple they had an AWESOME wedding party with 10 attendants each which made for some pretty fun times. all in all i couldn't have asked for a more fun way to spend a saturday and i hope the pictures show just a glimpse into what a great day it was!

well being the wonderful husband that i am(i can dream cant i?) i bought my lovely bride some sunflowers the other day on my way home from work and i just couldn't believe that i was letting such beautiful flowers just sit in a vase and die without getting a single picture of them! so tonight, even though i was exhausted from the day job, i decided that i needed to get some cool pics of it and this was my favorite of the bunch. hope you enjoy!

Sam and Jennifer are Married!

There are some days that are just about perfect. Here we are in the middle of the scorching summer and on Sam and Jennifer's wedding day it feels like fall. If only every wedding I did could have such pleasant weather! Beautiful weather aside, Sam and Jennifer are some of our close friends and it was such a joy and honor to be a part of their wedding and capture the moments from one of the biggest days of their lives. Everything was perfect from the start to the end and it was truly a joy to be there. Also their colors were brown and turquoise which is one of my favorite color combos so that made doing pictures even more enjoyable. We had great light, great weather, a great wedding party, great food, great dancing, great everything! Hope you enjoy the pics of their special day!

Sandy and Sonya are Married!

Shortly after my Uncle Sandy got engaged he contacted me about the possibility of doing their wedding photography. I was excited at the opportunity to be a part of their special day and was already looking forward to it! I don't get to visit with my Dad's side of the family as much as I would like but with the advent of facebook I had a chance to get to know Uncle Sandy and Sonya more than I would have just at the two family reunions we've had since their engagement. Well Meagan contacted me about a week before we moved to Macon so I told her I would love to do the pictures but it would have to be ASAP. Well I started to think it wasnt going to work out but at the last minute we were able to get together on a time and I'm so glad we did because they were great! Meagan and Clay were so sweet together and it was a real joy to walk around Athens and take some awesome pictures. We had beautiful weather and the lighting was just awesome! I find it crazy sometimes how fast life goes. It seems like yesterday that I was in middle school and my sister Joanna was playing with her new friend Amelia. Fast forward to this weekend. Amelia is all grown up and and I'm getting to be a part of the most special day of her life and take pictures on her wedding day with my wife(of two years yesterday... Happy Anniversary Jess!). It was such a sweet wedding and I couldn't have felt more blessed to be a part of it and I really felt like part of the family just being there. Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Well this weekend we had a great time at my cousin Heather's wedding and it was nice because I went to my first wedding we've been to in a while as just a guests. Jess and I were excited about getting to hang out with the extended family and it was a very sweet wedding. There were a few laughs during the ceremony when the cute little flowergirl was coming down the isle. She would stop at each pew and throw 2-3 flower pedals at whoever was sitting at the end of the pew. After about 2 minutes of her walking down the isle, coordinator came and grabbed her so the bride could come down too! It was pretty funny. Also having dealt with "Uncle Bob" in the past, I tried to stay out of the way of the hired photographer(my cousin and his girlfriend) but still managed to get some very nice shots. Hope you enjoy!

Grad Girls!

Well to continue the graduation theme I give you a handful of my favorite people from my time at UGA. When my friend Nicole (Cola as I prefer to call her) gave me a call to see if I could do some graduation pictures for her and some friends I said no problem and then we began to try and find a time that we could meet up to do them. Well I'll be the first to say that coordinating 6 peoples schedules during finals week is easier said than done. We had to reschedule a couple of times because of conflicting tests, work schedules, etc and we finally got down to the last possible time before the girls headed home and it was raining. Yes rain was about to ruin another shoot but no we didnt let that stop us. Luckily by the time we got to campus the rain actually cleared up and before we got done the sun even poked out so we had a great time. This is a great group of girls and I know they will be missed around here as they head their seperate ways after graduation but I hope you all enjoy the pics!

Kimmy is Graduating!

Its that time again. Finals. Which also means that the year is almost over and there are a bunch of bulldogs that are finishing up their stay here in Athens and graduating. Its been a while since I did a graduation shoot but I was really excited when Kimmy contacted me and asked if I would be willing to do some pictures of her and her twin freshman sisters. They were all really funny which made the shoot very fun and I think the pictures captured the fun we had. Well if you are still taking finals, good luck and I hope you enjoy the pictures!

So I think I've decided that being a weatherman is a pretty sweet deal. I mean you can be 100% wrong on the weather all the time and its ok because its a "forecast." That brings us to Friday. Friday was supposed to rain all day. Start raining at 9am and rain until Saturday night. Well I was a little worried about this forecast because I had pictures with Callie and Clark at 4pm, right in the middle of the "downpour" but to my surprise, there was no rain. No rain in the morning, no rain in the afternoon. Anyways it was absolutely beautiful come 4:00 and it made taking pictures a blast! Callie and Clark really love nature so we hiked through the trails at the Botanical Gardens and were able to get some awesome shots on fallen trees, in the creek(which I fell in...) and all through the woods. I love how green these pictures look! Its such a wonderful color green and I think it really captures their love for nature. I hope you enjoy them as well!

Adam and Jessica are Engaged!

Adam and Jessica are a lot of fun. I've known Adam for a while now(and he actually lives in my old room...) but from the time I meet with him and Jessica to talk about wedding plans I was excited about getting to hang out with them again. Jessica reminded me a lot of my Jessie and I knew my Jessie was gonna be coming along for this engagment session so I was really looking forward to doing the pictures and man did we have a great time! We got to go down to Madison(which is a REALLY cute town about 30 minutes south of Athens) and had a ton of fun just walking around a little park near where Adam works and then we ventured downtown which has some awesome textures and colors. The weather was awesome, the lighting was awesome, the city was awesome, and I think the photos are awesome. Hope you enjoy!

Joey and Lorien are Engaged!

A few months ago my good friend Bill called me and asked if I would be willing to donate a photography for a silent auction to raise money for a mission trip at the UGA Wesley Foundation. Considering that 1) I love Bill and 2)I worked at Wesley for a year and 3)I love missions I really had no choice but to do it. As the auction was coming to an end the bidding had gotten pretty intense between Joey and Lorien and another couple(whos pictures I'm doing later this week...) and in the end Joey and Lorien won. So after fighting the bids and then rescheduling a few times due to crazy Georgia weather we finally got to go do some awesome pictures in Watkinsville. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a ton of fun just walking around getting to know each other and snapping pictures. They are a really great couple and I'm glad I had the joy of getting to know them. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Well this is a wedding I've been really excited about shooting for quite some time. I was excited about having an opportunity to try out some new shots, equipment, and a new workflow and I could not be happier! It was a beautiful wedding between two absolutely wonderful fun people and doing their pictures was pure joy. I'm excited that wedding season has officially kicked off and I'll be doing at least one wedding every month for the next few months so stay tuned for even more wedding fun. Well Julie contacted me a few weeks ago about doing engagement photos and after a few emails back and forth nailing down a date and some other specifics we came to realize that Jessie actually knew her fiance, Matt, and I had worked with Julie's cousin, Amy. Small world! Anyways I had such a great time getting to know these two plus I got to check out a new place to shoot in Watkinsville which is always fun. Julie and Matt are such a sweet couple and after about 2 seconds of meeting them it was very obvious that they absolutely love each other. Hope you enjoy the first of their pictures!

Andy and Jami are engaged!

I was really excited when Andy and Jami contacted me a few months ago to do their engagement picture. Andy was a good friend and former roomy before Jess and I got married and Jami has always been a big fan of my photography so it was an honor when they came to me for pictures. Well after waiting for winter to end and after several reschedulings because of bad weather we finally got a pretty day to take their engagement pictures. And man did we get a pretty day! The weather was beautiful, big blue skies with puffy white clouds, it looked like a painting above us the entire time! Andy and Jami are so sweet together and its so easy to tell how much they love each other. They were really easy to photograph plus we got to hang out for an hour or two and just catch up on life. This was my first engagement shoot using some new lenses and I was really happy with the results. Anyways heres a few of the first pictures after loading them up last night and I'll probably post up some more after I get done going through them all. Enjoy!

Well after racking up the dough for my birthday this year(big families are nice at birthdays...) I decided I was going to buy myself a "just for fun" lens and I ended up with an awesome little Nikon 60mm macro. I LOVE THIS LENS! Macro(close up) photography was one of the things that drew me into photography in the first place and I'm a little sad that it took me this long to finally get a real macro lens. Anyways heres a couple pictures from my first day of playing with it. Hope you enjoy!

Well ok, its not really a blizzard but it is snowing in Athens, like real snow, for the first time in about 5 years. Jess and I got to go on a walk in the snow, have a little snowball fight and maybe later we can build a snowman! Well I had the honor of photographing my older brothers wedding this last weekend and I had a blast! I was actually in the wedding so that limited some of my shooting but overall I was really happy with how everything turned out. This was also my first event I had the chance to cover using my new Nikon camera and I was pumped about how the pictures looked straight out of the camera before any processing. Anyways heres some of the pics!

Well I finally got my new camera in and have been having fun playing with it. Almost every control on the camera is backwards from my Canon cameras but I'm getting used to it and I'm really liking the shots I'm getting! I'm a big fan of the colors from the Nikon cameras and it was one of the big motivators for the switch. This is from my first day with the camera and is a picture of my wonderful niece and just thought it was such a cute shot that I had to share it. As for the switch, I'm still in the process of replacing all my bodies and lenses but I'm happy with how everything is going and I've been able to get much higher quality lenses and accessories which should mean better photos for you! More to come in the days ahead...

Gone to the Dark Side...

Well mostly because of my very curious nature, and the old grass is greener on the other side thing, I've decided to jump ship and give Nikon a try. As many Canon shooters would say I'm going to the Dark Side. I'm hoping to be able to make my shooting more effecient using a new system and hope to produce even better images as a result. I'm currenlty selling off all my Canon gear and replacing it with equivelent Nikon equipment so if you are looking for any Canon gear or are selling any Nikon gear let me know!

Well after a day of "subbing" aka watching high schoolers work on the computer, I think I've finally got a watermark that works. The first one was a little obtrusive, the second while better didn't work with dark pictures and was still a little too big, and now the third is a nice size and it doesn't effect the picture at all so it will work! Horray!

Well heres some pictures of my first sample album and my new business cards. For those whow have requested a price list this is the "Lay Flat" album that would be included in the Basic package. I hope to get more samples as I do more weddings and will be sure to post them up here so you can check them out! I was also really happy with how business cards turned out and am glad I will now have a card to hand people instead of saying, "well I don't actually have a card yet but I'm planning on getting some soon." Hooray! We now have a blog to go along with the website. I'm really excited about the opportunity this will give us to keep everyone up to date on what we've been up to and have another way to connect and meet new people!
